Bellavista 5 were somewhat disappointed to come in 14 place,we had the plan!!!! and already we have started plotting for a 2009 upset,with 2 bellavista boats already manned>>>>any takers out there to man bellavista 3.What happened to our plan this year???? well I think Murphy may have been the weak link with Grundy providing all the fire power,3 bearded rockling no problem and yes almost a conger at the same time,but our, dare I say banker fish eluded us and with some engine problems we may have got closer to skua.I must say that the competition was organised to perfection,clockwork Jim, and I thoroughly enjoyed it,my mentor not loosing the rag too often with me,well he has signed up for 2009 and I am looking forward to it.Quattro has taken a wager with the Bellavista team that they will win the Cork Small Boats first,well lads,myself and Grundy will enjoy spending that money ( on beer ).Congratulations to the Welch lads on winning the Bellavista prise,i look forward to welcoming them to Cobh in 2009.On another note John Roscoe will set sail from Cobh to Liverpool next Wednesday but will return in April to get the fleet in order for 2009 which is looking like a very busy year.John is out today guiding since first light,his 3rd outing this week,he does not want to go????still some nice fish around.Any comments or views on the Bellavista operation will be welcome.

Can you still remember how to put a reel on to a rod, are you still fishing with that rod you got from Huckleberry finn. Hope kevin has organised ramped access for someone your age.
Guinness sales will obviously exceed there normal quota once you arrive.
We will know when and where you are fishing, we will see the brown slick in the tide in the morning.

It was great to have a group from Seaham Angling Club over to Cork and the Bellavista last week,12 m,embers of Seaham Angling club came to Bellavista for a week.Unfortunately the weather was not so kind,but thats Ireland.The group fished 5 days between boat and shore and 10 of the 12 anglers had personal best fish.Congor up to 55 lbs recorded with lots over 20 lbs.A 7.5 lbs Mullet from the shore,wrasse, only a couple of Bass 4-5 lbs,thornback ray,Pollock.Overall a happy group of anglers leaving,and I know we will have repeats with all of this group realising the potential of Cork Harbour.Seaham one of the biggest clubs in the UK,and Bellavista Hotel and Angling Services hope to have a long relationship and we would like to thank all those who spent a week with us ,it was our pleasure looking after you.Tight Lines Kevin Murphy.

Lets be positive about the competition IF we can keep of the Guinness
before the comp days, we have a chance.
WE will upset the big hitters

UPTIDE GIRL The crew are to old now
PRADATOR 2 Has TONY as captain
HIGHLANDER Duffy & John are fished out
QUATTRO Could not catch a cold
SKUA Are over confident & still getting counciling
NAUGHTY LASS Neil will blow out after 1st day
GOLDILOCKS Will be at A/A meeting by Tuesday
BEASTMASTER Hade there 15min of fame last year

SEE THIS SHOULD UPSET THE BIG HITTERS

Deck Hand John may be a good “mole” for unusual fish caught from the harbour for the Bella Vista team of Grundy and Murphy – I hear that three different Angler Fish have been caught from the same mark in the last week !

Thanks for that, I am delighted to have added a 175 to my fleet I am going to update one of my 165,s this year for 2009 season,so if anyone wants a very well cared for 165 only 2 yrs old give me a call.I have been fishing the 175 for the past 2 weeks and I must say she is a dream,hasnt improved my catch rate though!!!!!looking forward to fishing Cork Small Boats,thanks again.
